Relationships: Venus Understanding Mars

marsvenus

I was reading Christian Carter’s latest newsletter and I had an aha moment. Men really are from Mars. O.K., all of us know men and women are different. We are different in the way we think, the way we respond to same situations, how we view relationships, etc.

Why am I saying Men really are from Mars? I’m trying to make the point Women are women, we try to understand, analyze and explain everything. A problem manifests, women want to talk about it and get the other person to understand their point of view. When women talk to each other, we totally get the discussion.

A problem appears, Guys want to Fix it. And the problem is done.

Do you see the difference?

This is only one example of how Men and Women are different.

My aha moment was viewing men for who they are, men. And there was no way to make them like women, because it’s just the way it is. Men and women are wired differently.

The only analogy I can think of to make this more clear to myself is dogs and cats. I know it’s funny, but I know dogs so that’s why it popped into my head. Dogs are wired to please their master, protect their home and seek approval. Cats are wired to be independent, stealthy, and other cat things that I’m not aware of, because I don’t have cats. There’s no way to make a dog like a cat or vice versa.

Now, all dogs are the same as a species, the points I mentioned earlier – how dogs are wired. Men are the same way. They are wired a certain way. A problem to them means fix it. In a relationship, when the woman gets emotional and there’s arguing, the woman wants to work things out and the guy wants to escape.

However, within the canine species, every dog has it’s own unique personality. My three dogs are very different from each other despite them being the same species. Apollo is very docile, emotional and high energy. Daisy was medium energy, assertive, and spunky. Zeus is low energy, calm, stoic and a natural Alpha.

Guys, too, have their own unique personalities. We, women, know this. Some men are outgoing, introverts, funny, serious, left brain, right brain, etc.

What does all this mean when I say, Venus understanding Mars? Relationships really are work. It takes both partners willing to understand the other not just as individuals, but as their gender. Because men and women really are different.

By understanding each other as gender and as individuals, I hope, relationships end up happy, loving and last forever.

Yes there is a lot of biological aspect to it and how our brains work differently.

But inside out heart. Our feelings are always the same. When we bind ourselves with feelings and make that bond the strongest, everything else that our mind conceives and projects will be just part of life.

Thanks for the share and your ending of the post is superb 🙂

For the most part but not generally. There are some women who would react to life’s situations and relationships in a way a man would, and there are some men who would react to those two things in a way a woman would.
