My heart goes out to the lives lost and those who lost loved ones during the terrorist attack in Brussels and attacks prior to the bombings in Belgium.
It makes me sad to watch this hate that justifies killing humans. A hate so deep and ignorant that it doesn’t take into account the loved ones and children that are harmed and killed during their acts of violence.
I’ll never understand terrorism. Because I don’t believe in an eye for an eye, inflicting pain because I’m in pain, or anything that promotes anger, hate, and death.
I don’t know how I would feel if I lost a loved one due to a terrorist attack. Sadness, loss, pain, anger, and frustration, but never revenge. Seeking vengeance for my loss, pain, anger and frustration, it wouldn’t accomplish anything, but could hurt innocent people.
This Martin Luther King, Jr. quote states what I believe:
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars… Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
Everyone should embrace, practice and teach their children this, so the cycle of violence and hate can come to an end and love, caring and understanding can rule.
