After I taught myself how to use Adobe Photoshop four years ago, I’ve wanted to take Graphic Design classes, but I didn’t want to incur student loan debt. The hospital I work at has a tuition reimbursement program and I asked HR about it. From their response, it didn’t seem as though I would qualify for the program, because I wasn’t working in a department where graphic designers worked.
A few weeks ago, I told my manager I wanted to take graphic design classes and if I could get the tuition reimbursement. She said she would approve it. YAAAAY.
Starting this January, I’ll be busy with getting an Associates in Graphic Design. I hope to finish the program in two years.
A couple days ago, I wanted to paint. I thought about just going to a Paint and Sip night, but I wanted more than one night of painting.
So, taking painting classes, it popped into my head and I pondered it while I was walking my dogs. I like creating and designing. I taught myself how to use Photoshop. And, I’ve, always, been an arty kinda girl all my life.
Just a thought about something I want to do in the near future.
My current fun thing to do is go to Paint and Sip places. What is Paint and Sip? As you can see from my lovely painting, it’s a place where you go to paint and drink. Some of these places have full open bars where you can get martinis, margaritas, wine, beer, etc. Other places only have wine and beer.
By the way, the painting is my attempt of the Eiffel Tower…lol.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never painted. (Look at my painting, first attempt at painting) There is an artist there that gives you step by step instructions on how to paint the theme for the night.
This is an entertaining way to hangout with friends and have a fun time. It makes a great date night, too. And you’ll have paintings to decorate a room in your house!
New Painting – Pier
I really like this Georgia O’Keeffe painting. I’ve decided that some of the art I’m going to decorate my townhome with are going to be abstract flower paintings.
This O’Keeffe will be one of the paintings I’m going to get. Here are some others I like:
My Kandinsky arrived today! YAY! Now, I just have to find a frame to display the art in. This is the picture I’m going to put in my tiny entry hallway right across from my entryway bench.
Why do I like this painting? I don’t know. It reminds me of chaos and my life has had moments of chaos. I guess this is why I like it.
There’s something about Abstract Art that I find interesting. The art has no defined objects in it. It’s a collection of colors and shapes that are in a crazy pattern. I like that it’s a mess of colors and swirls making it complex, which represents who I am.
A complex girl.
It’s not Dali, O’Keeffe or Degas, but maybe Warhol? LOL. This is what happens when I see what I can do on Photoshop.
