Positive Thinking: What Has Been Great

Despite how my day started with the PIG, who thought it was ok to say sexual things to me, I thought a Positive Thinking post was in order.

  1. My pups always make my days brighter and give me peace of mind knowing they will rip someone’s leg off if they try to hurt me.

2. The Soda Bottles that are half the size than the regular ones. Whoever invented these soda bottles is a genius and perfect for me, because I can never finish a full size one.

3. Friends, because they make life better and fun, and one of my friends this week was so sweet.

4. I discovered the buttermilk chicken sandwich at McDonalds the other day and it’s Yum, Yum, Yummy.

5. I watched Independence Day and it’s still a Great movie. It has been a long time since I’ve seen it.

6. Snapchat face changer, it allows me to share my silly side and start my day with a laugh.

7. I interrupted my procrastination and worked on my query letter and synopsis so I can solicite literary agents.

8. Nutribiotic all natural nose spray, I’ve gone through the worst part of allergy season without getting sick so far.

9. I found out these movies, I’ve been wanting to see, will be available at Redbox soon. I live a very uneventful life and don’t do much…LOL.

10. Ice Cream, my summer treat that I eat a lot of only when it’s hot out. Some of my favorite places to get ice cream McDonalds, Dairy Queen, Liks and Sonic.

What positive things have been happening for my fellow bloggers?

Blog: Monetizing a Blog

Monetizing a blog, this has been a continuous learning experience.

Unless, you know how to build a website, plugins, and all the things that go into creating a website, it won’t be easy setting up a blog to make money. I’m techy challenged, but I know some things and go to YouTube to figure out how to do things I don’t know. BUT, if you’re a person, who finds doing anything with creating a website, a HUGE mystery and do not want to tackle figuring out the mystery have some cash (a lot) to pay someone to design the website for you.

Today, I figured out how to order the pages on my blog and there’s a glitch with it, because it’s suppose to put them in order automatically after I’ve done the work in WordPress. And, it’s not putting the pages in the order I want. Maybe, it needs a day to think about the order…LOL.

I put in social media icons that takes readers directly to my social media pages. I put in an RSS feed from my Facebook page. And, I really don’t know the purpose of an RSS feed, but from what I’ve read from monetizing a blog it is a MUST to have on your blog. I’m not even sure I did the RSS feed right…LOL. I, still, need to figure out how to put something on my blog that allows readers to sign up to my RSS feed.

Note: If you want to monetize your blog, websites that offer affiliate programs have you fill out an application then you wait for them to approve it. I’m still waiting for PetSmart, PetCo and Google Adsense to approve me.

This was my adventures, today, with creating my blog/website.

Blogs: Web Hosting

I’ve been writing blogs for not quite ten years. I think it was 2008 when I entered the world of blogging. My ex kept telling me to monetize the blogs, but he didn’t tell me how to do it. I don’t think he really knew how or just didn’t want to set it up for me.

Well, the set up is a bit time consuming, especially, if you’re techy challenged like me. I don’t know if there is a hosting program out there that does all the set up for a novice like me, but it would really be nice if it existed.

I plan to set this blog up to monetize it and two more blogs, but after setting up Dog Cyber Park and the glitches I’ve run into I’m glad I started with a non-existing blog first. The help desk at eHost will be getting many calls from me…LOL.

Why did I go with eHost for my blog hosting? They were given a high rank as one of the best hosting sites and they were the cheapest. Bluehost and GoDaddy were over a hundred dollars for their web hosting.

I hope this monetizing works out, because hosting is not cheap.

Dog Cyber Park

I have a new WordPress Blog, Dog Cyber Park, that I put on a web hosting site in attempt to monetize it. I’m technically challenged so it took me all day to figure out how to set it up and there’s still more to do. The only thing I really know how to do is write blogs…LOL. So, I was able to post 5 blogs.

Hope y’all like the new Dog site, which my pups, Apollo, Zeus and Daisy will show make may appearances on.

Blogging: Money

I’ve been researching monetizing blogs. I know it’s possible and many people have been successful with making money with their blogging. But, I’m wondering how long does it take to make money? What it really takes to monetize a blog?

So fellow bloggers, any of you out there, who are making money from blogging, please do share with me the pros and cons. Thank you for sharing.

I’ve been totally immersed in learning copywriting for the past week. This is my nature. I get interested in something or have a goal and my focus is on that 24/7. Everything else in my life gets ignored…LOL.

Discovering copywriting, this is not new to me. I’ve, always, known it existed, but I was never interested in learning it. I signed up for a year subscription with the Writer’s Market. The next day, an email about learning copywriting appeared in my inbox. I happen to read it instead of immediately deleting it.

After learning how copywriting is created, I was hooked. It was something I’d been doing versions of during my pursuit to be a writer. I thought, “Hell, I can do this and do it really well where I will succeed and accomplish my dream to write.”

So, fellow bloggers that is what I have been doing and why I haven’t been blogging.

Writer’s Block

For several days, I haven’t been able to come up with something to blog about. I’m not sure what’s causing the block. I’m sure all of you have experienced this. Maybe writing this something will pop into my head and the creativity will come back.

Positive Thinking: What was Great about Today

For May 10 – 11, 2016

  1. Finishing the final edit of my book, I set a limit of three edits of the entire book, because let’s be real I could edit the thing over and over and over and over…lol.
  2. Eating a Big Mac and fries, I didn’t care that it was bad for me and I just enjoyed those fries.
  3. Chocolate chip cookies, the marathon editing stressed me out and I enjoyed every cookie I ate.
  4. Going on a run, it keeps me zen and burned off the bad calories I consumed in the past couple days.
  5. Getting the final edit of my book done right after I woke up, so I had the rest of the day to just enjoy myself.
  6. Playing Bingo, I have a bit of an addiction to it…lol.
  7. One of my co-workers will work for me May 27, when my friend is flying in, hopefully, it will be approved, because it’s over-time for my co-worker.
  8. Having time to read some of my followers blogs, they’re so diverse and I enjoy reading about what’s going on in their lives.
  9. Cooking the salmon I bought from Costco, I’ve been craving it for awhile.
  10. Having two big packages of Costco toilet paper, it’s an issue I have with having plenty of necessary supplies…lol (future blog).

Confession: Number Eight

I’ve been in the Zone for the past 6 days.

When I’m working on my writing nothing else exists and pretty much everything gets ignored. This use to drive my ex crazy, because I was so focused on my goals and neglected him, housekeeping, cooking and pretty much everything.

Balance, I’m still working on this, but I slip and go into the Zone when I get obsessed at accomplishing, finishing or conquering a goal I’ve set for myself.

On Fridays, when it’s my four days off I’ve learned to just clean my place right when I get home from work. This way it gets done and I’ve done something other than focus on finishing my book.

My dogs force me to stop and exercise, because they can’t be neglected. They can’t walk themselves…lol. Or take care of themselves.

And, I did take time and have some fun during the six days. So, I’m improving and not completely immersing myself in my work.

Edit Done: Well, Almost

After the marathon editing the past couple of days, I’ve finished editing the whole book for the last time.

There’s some tweeks I still need to take care of and I need to reread a section of a chapter I came across that might not flow. I read the chapters so fast that I don’t know if my brain was just tried or it wasn’t flowing right.

However, the editing is pretty much done and it’s on to looking for a Literary Agent.

I’m getting my armor shined and ready for this next phase. All the writers out there know what I’m talking about, yes, the rejection letters.

While I’m trying to get a literary agent to fall in love with my book, I’ll be working on Book Two.

Yes, this book is a series. Four books total.
